The Sunhouse (November 2007) PDF Print E-mail

It all started with an egg from Holland. A special egg that was on a mission. It came from a special school, De Marke (www.marke-apeldoorn.nl), in Holland (Apeldoorn). For a whole year De Marke and The Mango Tree Garden have been creating a story together about the egg, have exchanged artwork, drawings, photo's and learned so much from each other. In the meantime the children from De Marke have worked very hard to raise money for the Mango Tree Garden through a playback show, a fancy-fair and all kinds of household jobs at people's homes. On behalf of all the children the Mango Tree Garden would like to thank De Marke in a special way. Now the garden is shining bright with a Sunhouse in the shape of the sun. It has a central place in the Mango Tree Garden. The Sunhouse is an important gathering place and is also used for all creative activities with the children. Thank you!

Super Bee Nest (September 2007) PDF Print E-mail

'Super Bee' is a hero at the Mango Tree Garden. It is a story about a Bee who runs away from his only and best friend, a little girl, after he accidently stung her. He undertakes a long and difficult journey where he also makes new friends along the way. In the end he finds his 'home', a pineapple field where his Bee family lives. There he realizes that the child will always be his best friend and he is grateful for the journey he made to discover that.
'Super Bee' now has an amazing Nest at the Mango Tree Garden in which children can climb and where they can dream about their hero. Many thanks to Georgia Verey, who is also a hero. She ran a marathon to make SUPER BEE NEST possible.

The Mangobeat of the Drums (February 2007) PDF Print E-mail

In December 2006 the school De Dobbelsteen (www.obs-dedobbelsteen.nl) in Hoogerheide, The Netherlands, organized a Christmas Fancy Fair to support the Mango Tree Garden. The students made wonderful artwork and teachers/parents were involved in selling delicious snacks. It was a great success. The Mango Tree Garden would like to thank the school and all people involved for their donation. This has enabled the Mango Tree Garden to buy drums and to have drum-workshops with professional drummers.
